The program

A few kilometers north of Lyon, the northern region of Beaujolais is famous for its vintages: Fleurie, Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent... Wind your way around the hills with your driver-guide and wine lover, will introduce you to the rich variety of this wine region. In the heart of this territory with an exceptional geology, this itinerary allows you to discover the vintages of Beaujolais in all their dimensions.

This wine itinerary is the perfect program for discovering and tasting Beaujolais wines in all their diversity. A complete experience for intense emotions!

Leaving from Lyon we will head up North, to Villefranche, the capital of Beaujolais. We will start the tour with a stroll in the covered farmer’s market. You will walk around the colorful stalls in a convivial atmosphere. Then, just like the locals, you will have a “Mâchon”. This traditional snack with charcuterie and cheese and a glass of Beaujolais wine. You will taste the best local specialties.

We will then take the wine route, with its beautiful hills covered with vines. You will observe the variety of sceneries that produces so many different well-known wines. An exceptional geology that allows the region to be listed as a geopark in 2018. Thanks to your wine-passionate driver-guide you will learn everything about the wine-making process and understand the meaning of the French word “terroir”. The tour will end in a Cru village where you meet a winemaker who will tell you about his work and show you his estate before welcoming you in the wine-cellar for a tasting.

The perfect half-day tour to discover the authentic « terroir » of the Northern Beaujolais, in a convivial atmosphere.
