The program

Explore southern Beaujolais and appreciate the diversity of this area. Often compared to Tuscany, this hilly region dotted with hilltop villages built in golden stone offers a gentle pace of life. Our cultural and gourmet itinerary leads you around the southern part of Beaujolais. A few kilometers to the north of Lyons, the region is green and hilly. Known around the world for its famous Beaujolais Nouveau, it is also the land of golden stone that offers its charming villages a unique style. Our driver-guide and wine lover will pass on his passion for the region to you during our rural excursion. An introduction to wine and a meeting with a winemaker who will also invite you to enjoy a tasting experience.

Discover Southern Beaujolais with our unusual and gourmet tour which will show the highlights of this beautiful region. Enjoy an exceptional time to take in the wonders of this region, from history to wine!

Once our experienced driver-guide has met you at your hotel with our air-conditioned minivan you will head north to southern Beaujolais. Among the hills and valleys, beautiful golden stone villages reveal their warm colors and beautiful light. Unique in the region, this ochre stone defines the landscape which offers an exceptionally soothing environment.

We will then take advantage of this authentic setting to enjoy an introduction to wine-tasting in the heart of the vineyards. By tasting three different wines accompanied by a local French pastry, your guide will pass on their passion for wine to you. We will explain the notion of “terroir”, which is behind the uniqueness of the different vineyards.

You will then visit Oingt, a 12th century village listed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France. Here, along its narrow streets, you will discover the authentic charms of its medieval monuments. Later on, you will continue your itinerary through this magnificent setting and take advantage of the exceptional landscapes.

Your last stop will be at a family owned winery. During the visit to the estate, the very personable winemaker will be happy to reveal the secrets of his work. To round off the half-day tour, he will invite you to taste some wines accompanied by a “mâchon”. This traditional snack from Lyon will offer you the chance to discover local cold meats and cheeses.

A foretaste of the visit

What our customers say…

  • We thought it was great 1/2 day trip out of the city. Yann was a good host explaining about the Beaujolais region, and the differences in the wines & soils & grapes from that part of France. It was a nice stop in “golden stones old town of Oingt” and we bought souvenir pottery from a local vendor. Once at a local family winery tasting room cellar, there were multiple samplings, with bread, & cheese snacks. The first tastings at the view stop Yann also provided mini croissants as snacks. The views of the surrounding french countryside vineyards were beautiful. And it was easy pickup/dropoff from Place Bellecour as stated. 🍇 🧀
  • Enjoyed the wine tour very much. The guide was very knowledgeable and transportation comfortable and all done with ease.
Enjoyed in particular seeing the beautiful countryside and villages outside of Lyon and tour in small family owned winery. Delightful 🍇 🏘️
  • It was a nice experience tour around the region and walk around the little village. I save our Sunday in Lyon. 👍 ✅
  • Our guide Rachel did a great job from the first minute. She always made sure every couple felt welcomed. Great wines and a lot of interesting facts about the Vineyard and the city. We had a great time, but if there was anything we would recommend in the future is more time at the Vineyard. 🤩 🍇
  • We had a fantastic afternoon with Francois. We had two tastings in the Golden Stones region of Beaujolais. We learned a great deal about the wine production in the region and the wines we tasted were excellent. It was raining but it did not deter from the excellent tour and the tastings we experienced. The tour also included a short visit to the village of Oignt with charming narrow streets with decorated houses and views overlooking that region of Beaujolais. I would highly recommend if you are coming to the region. ✅ 🍷
  • This trip was a great half day visit to the Beaujolais region! We started with an early tasting at a beautiful location/chapel close to Oingt that included some great pastries to snack on and then we got to send some time walking around the town. Ended with a tasting at an amazing family run winery (with an adorable vineyard dog named mascot!). Our guide was great, friendly, and very knowledgeable and made the experience fun and welcoming! 🐶 😍
  • It was so much fun! We started out overlooking this beautiful valley and having 2 glasses of wine and pastries. Then got to explore a little village 🏘️ before before seeing the vineyard where we learned how each type of wine was made. We then tasted a white, rose, 2 reds, and a dessert wine paired with lovely snacks before we got the chance to buy the wine! Very much recommend this tour 🍷 🥐
