This half-day tour takes you south of Lyon, you will follow the Rhône, at the bottom of the Côte-Rôtie vineyards, the steepest ones in Europe. This extraordinary landscape of steep slopes and sunny terraces gives all its originality to this terroir. This area is the best place to understand 200 years of winemaking, on these, so particular, sun-bathed terraces, where vines were planted since Antiquity. You will start with a first tasting thanks to a convivial stop in a wine cellar where you will get to try 6 different wines : extraordinary aromatic richness of the area, the land of Syrah and Viognier appellations. Produced on only 7 kilometers, the Côte Rôtie wine is currently world renowned.
Afterwards, we will continue heading south while winding our way through vineyards of Côte-Rôtie, with its steep slopes. We will visit a family-run winery where you will meet the winemaker who will tell you everything about his ancestral work : taking care of the vines of course but also looking after the typical stone walls to maintain terraces. You will discover all the wine processes of the estate, and finally, of course, you will get to try several of his wines and appreciate the amazing aromas of this famous appellation that is the Côte-Rôtie.
