Leaving from Lyon, your wine-passionate driver-guide will take you to the Côte de Baune and its castles. The first stop will allow you to visit one of them with its wine cellar dating from the 11th century and its impressive buildings. You will taste the most prestigious appellations of the Côte de Beaune vineyards. A good start for this wine tour.
Free time for lunch: We will continue to Beaune for lunch. Thanks to our advice, you will be able to enjoy the traditional cuisine of Burgundy and its famous gastronomic specialties.
Also, take time to visit the historical center. Beaune is a fortified town of character that will not fail to delight you. Its paved and flower-covered streets will lead you to some outstanding historical monuments, such as its famous Hospices or Notre-Dame Collegial Church.
Free lunch in Beaune
In the beginning of the afternoon, we will continue with wine tastings driving through the Côtes de Nuit, with JFK and Charlie Chaplin’s favorite appellation: Aloxe Corton. After walking along the wine wall of the cellar, you will taste the wines of the estate, in a traditional Bourguignonne décor.
The tour ends a little more in the north, in Gervey Chambertin, in the center of the famous UNESCO listed climates where all the famous appellations are: Romanée Conti, Clos Vougeot… The last tasting will take you to an unusual cellar of Gevrey to discover delicious red wines before heading back to Lyon.
