Leaving from Lyon we will head up North, to Villefranche, the capital of Beaujolais. Charming city on the Soane riverbanks, we will start the tour with a stroll in the covered farmer’s market. You will walk around between the colourful stalls in a convivial atmosphere. Then, just like the locals, you will have a “Mâchon”. This traditional snack with charcuterie and cheese and a glass of Beaujolais wine. You will taste the best local specialties. We will then, take the wine route, with its beautiful hills covered with vines. Thanks to your wine-passionate driver-guide you will learn everything about the wine-making process. The tour will end in a Cru village where you meet a winemaker who will tell you all about his work and show you his estate before welcoming you in the wine-cellar for a tasting.
We will go to a local restaurant for lunch (not included)
We will then head up North to join our first stop at Pierreclos Castle. At first, a historical and cultural visit will allow you to discover this historical monument. The faithful renovation of the castle transcribes with talent the atmosphere of the fifteenth century. At the end of the visit, you will taste some wines of this vineyard engaged in organic farming. Its 8 hectares of vines produce an excellent Pouilly-Fuissé and Burgundy Pinot Noir. Our route will take us to a second castle where you will be welcomed by the owner in a prestigious historic site with remarkable aesthetics. You will have the chance to discover its expertise during a convivial meeting.
