The program

Vienne, former roman city, is the northern gate of the Côte du Rhône vineyards. Discovering its historical centre allows us a cultural and gourmet discovery of this region. A little south of Vienne, one of the oldest vineyards in France, Côte-Rôtie, with its steep hills covered with vines and its world-famous wines.

Wine lovers, you will fall under the spell of the beauty of this vineyard and the quality of its wines. An authentic tour with a cultural and gourmet discovery.

This half-day tour takes you south of Lyon, to discover the charming town of Vienne and the prestigious vineyards of Côte-Rôtie. Your guide will, first, take you to the top of the Pipet hill which offers a breath-taking view of the Rhône Valley.

You will then go down to the city centre and have a walk around. Your guide will tell you all about the roman past of the city and show you to its numerous well-preserved roman ruins that make the charm of this little town. You will then end this small tour of Vienne with a convivial and gourmet stop where you will get to try the regional cheeses and charcuterie with a glass of wine.

Afterwards, we will continue heading south while winding our way through vineyards of Côte-Rôtie, with its steep slopes, typical stone walls and sun-bathed terraces. We will visit a family-run winery where you will meet the wine maker who will tell you everything about his ancestral work. Of course, you will get to try several of his wines and appreciate the amazing aromas of the Côte-Rôtie appellation.
